Events. All events are free and open to members and non-members alike. Donations always welcome.

Sunday  13th July                                 Bug Hunt

Meet at the mansion at 1.30pm.

Our usual well-informed leader Grant will be along to help us find the mini– beasts of Beckenham Place Park. Magnifiers, nets and  specimen collection containers supplied, all ‘captives’ are released unharmed after examination.

Wednesday 13th August                    Bat Walk

Meet at the Crab Hill entrance near Ravensbourne railway station

at 8.00pm.

This will be a fairly informal   walk with no expert, but we have a bat detector to identify the bats. The weather has an effect on whether they appear or not but on previous occasions we have been lucky enough to see many pipstrelles in the woods at the edge of Crab Hill.

13th-24th September             Green Chain Walking Festival

Our contribution will be on Wednesday  24th September in the morning, but see inside for more details.

Forward Planning: Fungi Walk 19th October 1.00pm from Mansion.

(Our expert has asked for an early start as the light will be better.)

Text Box: CONTACTS. If anyone has any comments, ideas, articles etc. get in touch through any of the contact venues or in person at the Visitor Centre in the mansion.
Opening times:- Sundays 1.30pm-4.00pm BST. 1.30pm –3.30pm GMT

About The Friends Events

All our events are free, but any donations to funds are much appreciated.

Most last about 1-2 hours, but you can join in for as long or as little as you like.

It is advisable to wear stout walking shoes, as the paths do get very muddy.

Walkers are individually responsible for their own safety during our events.

Children are welcome, but a parent or guardian should accompany under-12’s.

Dogs are welcome, if kept under control. Walk leaders always carry water and mobile phone
